The Lab

I am increasingly asked to list what resources are in my lab so that they can determine if I am able to test their hardware/software for review.  Here is the current part list for my lab.  Donations are always welcome. 🙂


Compute Clusters

Cluster Caesium: 4 node Supermicro F627G2-F73PT+ Each node contains:

  • 2x Intel Xeon E5 2609 v2 CPUs
  • Onboard dual port Intel 10GBE NIC
  • nVidia K20 GRID card
  • 128GB RAM
  • 800GB Micron 9100 NVMe HHHL SSD
  • *Note: Currently 1 node is down a 16GB DIMM

Cluster Rubidium: 4 nodes of a Supermicro F617R2-F73 Each node contains:

  • 2x Intel Xeon E5 2680 v1 CPUs
  • Dual port Intel 10GBE NIC
  • 128GB RAM
  • *Note: Cluster is currently on assignment

Cluster Potassium: 4 nodes of a Supermicro F617R2-F73 Each node contains:

  • 2x Intel Xeon E5 2603 v2 CPUs
  • Dual port Intel 10GBE NIC
  • 128GB RAM
  • *Note: Cluster is currently on assignment

Cluster Sodium: 2 nodes of a Supermicro  6028TP-DNCR Each node contains:

  • 2x Intel Xeon E5 2609 v2 CPUs
  • 256GB RAM
  • 800GB Micron 9100 NVMe HHHL SSD
  • 4x 5400 RPM 2TB WD Green HDDs
  • *Note: Currently is currently on assignment as production Nodeweaver cloud

Cluster Lithium: 3 node Scale Computing HC1000:

  • 1x Intel Xeon x3450 CPU
  • 32GB RAM
  • 4x 600GB 15k RPM SAS

Cluster Francium: 3 node Scale Computing HC2000:

  • 1x Intel Xeon E5 2430 v2 CPU
  • 64GB RAM
  • 4x 600GB 15k RPM SAS

  • 2x Intel Xeon E5 2697 v3 CPUs
  • 256GB RAM
  • 800GB Micron 9100 NVMe HHHL SSD

Server Argon: Supermicro SYS-1028U-TNRTP+ The node contains:

  • 2x Intel Xeon E5 2685 v3 CPUs
  • 384GB RAM
  • 3x Micron 800GB 9100 NVMe HHHL SSDs
  • 8x Intel 520 480GB SSDs
  • Onboard quad port Intel 10GBE NIC

Server Krypton: Supermicro X10SDV-F  The node contains:

  • Intel Xeon D-1540 CPU
  • 64GB RAM
  • *Note node currently lacks chassis

Server Xenon: Supermicro X10SDV-TLN4F The node contains:

  • Intel Xeon D-1540 CPU
  • 64GB RAM
  • Onboard dual port Intel 10GBE NIC
  • *Note node is currently running lab infrastructure VMs

Server Radon: Supermicro X9SBAA-F The node contains:

  • Intel Centerton S1260 CPU
  • 4GB RAM
  • 120GB 7.2K RPM drive

Server Helium: Scale Computing HM4 Archive Node:

  • 1x Intel Xeon x3450 CPU
  • 32GB RAM
  • 4x 1TB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drives

*Note: An AMD Firepro S9150 card is also available for compute testing in relevant nodes

Western Digital Sentinel DS6100 (4x 2TB 7200 rpm) This unit is currently in production.

Western Digital Sentinel DX4200 ( No bulk storage installed ) This unit is currently in production.

Synology 1513+  (5x 1TB 7200 rpm)

Synology RS3614xs+  (12x Intel S3500 300GB SSDs) This unit is currently on assignment.

ioSafe 1513+  (5x 2TB 7200 rpm) This unit is currently in production.
